Frequency of leakage

Keeping a record of when you leak will help you:

  • Think about the circumstances in which you leak e.g. the times you leak, where you are and what you are doing

  • Work out how many products you are likely to need e.g. the number of pads per day or the number of sheaths per month

  • Possibly avoid leakage by allowing you to plan being close to a toilet when you are likely to leak

  • When talking to your health care professional

You can do this using a diary or chart.

You can read guidance on keeping a bladder/bowel chart.
